Has anyone tried to get the Free/OpenBSD neomagic driver
to work?
My Thinkpad 390 freezes on the first attempt to read
from the ac97 register space. (even if I single-step,
so it doesn't look like a timing issue)

from the boot log:
Neomagic MagicMedia 256AV Audio (audio multimedia, revision 0x20) at pci0 dev 5
function 1 not configured
