It would be possible to make a puc-like device for cardbus, but I'd
rather wait until we know that there are devices that really require
it.

Generally CardBus doesn't seem to be very popular, and since laptops
will support 16-bit cards for quite some time still, I don't think
it'll change overnight. I've seen a handful of modem cards, and no
other serial devices (they all seem to be pcmcia).
