So, I started swapping hardware, and it turns out that I still can't make
a pcic card work on a Tyan Thunder 2 board.  It's an oldish ATX board.  The
problem seems to be that if you tell it to reserve 64k of ISA space at
0xd0000, it can't use a SCSI controller, but if you try to reserve it
elsewhere, you generally get symptoms like "ray0 configures but won't ping".
