current-users: What does this mean?

I thought it had stopped working because of failing media selection,
but actually this message is there in older versions too:

$ ifconfig vr0
vr0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
	media: Ethernet autoselect (none)
	status: active
	inet 212.8.203.81 netmask 0xfffffff8 broadcast 212.8.203.87

What does this "media:" line try to tell me, especially what's the "none"?
