If you use the wavelan ethernet card in your laptop, would you please write to 
me?  I'd like to know if you can use telnet with them.

I ask because I've tried telnet over a Metricom wireless IP modem and it's 
unusable because of the delay between pressing a key and seeing the result.  I 
can tolerate it for a little while if I'm just viewing a text file but I'd go 
insane if I had to use it with emacs.
