Hm.  That sounds like an issue Matt Thomas and I have been chasing down.
Something similar happens on genuine 21143s, too.  Although, remember,
the Xircom has to copy each packet into a new buffer each time for
transmit due to its stupid alignment contraints.

Do you have an actual documentation reference for the Xircom clone?
