Building 258 is the building at NASA Ames Research Center where the
NetBSD CVS and AnonCVS servers are located. Power in the computer
room will be mostly cut for work being done on the air conditioning
system.

Sorry for the short notice, and any inconvenience this might cause.

Subject: Shutdown This Weekend - Reminder

As part of the chiller replacement project, there will be a cooling
shutdown of building 258 the weekend of January 29 and 30, 2000. The
building must be available to the contractor performing the work by
0000 hours Saturday January 29.

To prepare for this, most machines will inaccessable to user at 1600
hours, Pacific Time on Friday, January 28. All machines, except those
identified as critical DAO systems, will be unavailable 2300 hours.

Due to the longer scheduled down time, system backups will be performed
on systems before the shutdown occurs. Users should take steps to
make sure that critical data is preserved.

While the building is scheduled to be down until 2359 hours on January
30, machine access may occur sooner. For status of the shutdown,
contact NAS User Services at the telephone numbers below. Machine
access should be available at start of business Monday, January 31. If
problems should occur with any hardware after this power outage,
priority will be given to bringing DAO and CoMSO systems into a
production mode.

If there are any questions, please contact NAS User Services at
650-604-4444 or 800-331-USER. Questions can also be sent to
support@nas.nasa.gov.
