Is there an equivalent to the historical function of "KMEMSIZE" as a setting?

The reason I ask is that I'm having hangs under load, and I'm superstitious
about hangs under heavy load with softdeps on, because BSD/OS has occasionally
had some if KMEMSIZE isn't tuned right.  I don't know how similar this is,
but I'd like to hint strongly at the system that it wants more kernel memory
than it might otherwise assume.
