And that's the *real* problem with the way things are now - personally I
don't give a rip what it's called, but it seems like a real pain in the
butt for these poor Mac guys to have to go hacking every stinking comm
program in the world because they have a handshaking mode that nobody else
has ever heard of. Not that it matters to me - I don't own a Mac...

This smells of something that will contribute to marginalization of one of
the ports, which it seems was said in the past to be a "bad thing that
shouldn't be done".
