I'm sure it used to work for me. But now, I get characters from
the second half of the charset.
Might be that emacs' default input method has changed.

wscons delivers 0x80|c is ALT-c is pressed, as did pccons
and pcvt (w/o some META-ESC option).
xterm does the same, so it seems that emacs behaves differently
if it recognizes an xterm.
