Ok I now have an adapter and dmesg shows:

pcmcia1: card irq 5
wd1 at wdc2 channel 0 drive 0: <KCF016MP>
wd1: drive supports 1-sector pio transfers, lba addressing
wd1: 15MB, 500 cyl, 4 head, 16 sec, 512 bytes/sect x 32000 sectors

dumb question time, what does one mount etc to get the pics off?

# mount -r -t msdos /dev/wd1a /mnt 
mount_msdos: mount: Device not configured
root:81# Aug 24 19:25:18 not /netbsd: pcmcia1: card irq 7

wd1c gets the same result and wd1d gets Invalid argument.
