Does anyone know much about tunefs defaults?  My guess is that things like
rotdelay should probably be set a lot differently for plausible performance
on modern hardware than they would have been set in, say, 1988 or so.

An experiment on one of my other boxes showed that, at least under BSDI,
setting rotdelay to 0 instead of the historical default of 4 produced a
visible improvement in filesystem performance...
