I have almost the same set up, modulo the unionfs stuff - I allow the
clients to do their symlink dance, since the clients always mount the src
at /usr/src and have a local /usr/obj that is particular to their
architecture. Of course, this involves having the build script remount
/usr/src rw for the "obj" pass, and "ro" again afterward...
