On a sparc 20 with 64 MB of RAM and a 128 MB mfs /tmp, the second
command below wedges the machine. Is this just the sparc, or does
it affect other machines, too? Any thoughts on how to fix the
problem?

    dd if=/dev/zero of=/tmp/file bs=1m count=100
    cat /tmp/file >/dev/null
