There must be a way to do this but I can't find it in the docs. Here's
my situation.

I have a client who is LD from me and I want to set them up so I can
work on their system from time to time. They can't justify a dedicated
connection to the net so I am setting them up to dial a local provider
and I will connect through that. In order to work, I need to do two
things, dial the local provider on demand and make the local provider
the default route. I can set up a schedule of calls and when I need
to get in have anyone there do a ping -c1.

Since this provider, like most, has more than one terminal server, I don't
know what IP to give the pppd command so I can't set up demand dialing.
If I use the demand option it complains that I haven't specified the
remote system. I tried giving it 0.0.0.0 as the remote system but it
still complained.

If someone can tell me how to do this I'll write up something for the
networking FAQ. Naturally, I'm assuming that this is possible. I don't
believe that NetBSD is the only system that can't do this. Note that I
have found a provider that will give them a static IP but I suspect that
I can make this work without one. The static IP just makes it more
convenient to find them.

Thanks.
