It is certainly possible. Consider this command:

AT&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V&V

It produces very much output, which (on my Amiga 4000/40, even with
AmigaOS) overflows the 1-byte input buffer at 19200 bps. For higher speeds
I expect it will also overflow larger fifos.
