I just committed a change (which should be pulled into the release
branch RSN) which fixes the FIFO overflow problems people have been
having with com ports on the i386 port.  I'm running my FIFO-less port
on a 486DX2/50 at 57.6k fully saturated with no overflows.  Enjoy.
