Hi,

Unfortunately, this will not make it to the list for a long time, but I am
noticing some extremely long delays with processing mail from the
majordomo list server at netbsd.org.

My current date stamp is: Wed Nov 5 19:43:03 JST 1997 (Japan)

At 23:08 JST on Nov 4, I sent my first e-mail asking about problems
upgrading to 1.3-ALPHA. This was sent to the port-mac68k list and the
current-users list.

Here is the maillog entry:

Nov  4 23:08:53 ratbert sendmail[10623]: XAA10623:

, size=1450, class=0, pri=61450, nrcpts=2,

Nov  4 23:09:04 ratbert sendmail[10625]: XAA10623:

[205.180.83.70
], stat=Sent (ok 878652708 qp 13475)

When I woke up the next mroning, I still did NOT have a copy of the
message I sent, nor any replies. So I forwarded my original copy to the
list. This was at 07:19, Nov 5. Here is the maillog entry:

Nov  5 07:19:15 ratbert sendmail[12154]: HAA12152:

Around 8:00, I saw my original post along with some replies. Thanks to
everyone again for the replies.

At 08:58 Nov 5 (JST), I sent a message thanking everyone for their help
and noting that I had successfully upgraded to 1.3-ALPHA. I have yet to
receive a copy of that message. Here is the maillog entry.

Nov  5 08:58:37 ratbert sendmail[12252]: IAA12252:

At 15:44 Nov 5, I forward a copy of my second message thanking everyone to
majordomo again. Obviously, I have not received a copy of that either.
Again, the maillog entry:

Nov  5 15:44:45 ratbert sendmail[12694]: PAA12694:
from=<mark@ratbert.aisol.net>
, size=1860, class=0, pri=61860, nrcpts=2,
msgid=<Pine.NEB.3.96.971105154402.126
24A-100000@ratbert>, proto=SMTP, relay=localhost [127.0.0.1]
Nov  5 15:44:50 ratbert sendmail[12696]: PAA12694:
to=<current-users@NetBSD.ORG>
,<port-mac68k@NetBSD.ORG>, ctladdr=<mark@ratbert.aisol.net> (100/100),
delay=00:
00:05, xdelay=00:00:05, mailer=esmtp, relay=homeworld.cygnus.com.
[205.180.83.70
], stat=Sent (ok 878712468 qp 22003)

As I was writing this, a copy of my second message just arrived at
Wed Nov  5 20:02:05 JST 1997.

As you can see from the maillog entries, in each case, the mail messages
were sent to homeworld.cygnus.com. My nslookup work tells me that is the
proper mail exchanger for netbsd.org. So my message are getting to
netbsd.org.

Also, in the last hour or so, I have started to receive a lot of duplicate
copies of the messages that we sent to me with advice on how to fix the
problem. These messages are identical to the ones sent to me earlier.

Can someone please take a look at majordomo? I think something is not
working properly.
