Number of bits, counting from the most significant bit, that are
masked for the network number. It's a notation from Classless
Inter-Domain Routing (CIDR) which eliminated the standard IP network
number classes A, B, C. An "A" is now expressed 17/8 (Apple), a
"B" as 130.43/16, and a "C" 192.12.74/24.
