Heyla,
was getting this with a kernel a couple of days old and just got it with a
new kernel.

...
wdc1 at isa0 port 0x170-0x177 irq 15
atapibus1 at wdc1
cd0 at atapibus1 drive 1: <HITACHI CDR-7830, , 2012> type 5 cdrom removable
wd2 at wdc1 drive 0: <QUANTUM MAVERICK 540A>
wd2: 516MB, 1049 cyl, 16 head, 63 sec, 512 bytes/sec
wd2: using 8-sector 16-bit pio transfers, lba addressing
wd3 at wdc1 drive 1: <unknown>
wd3: 68MB, 1024 cyl, 8 head, 17 sec, 512 bytes/sec
wd3: using 1-sector 16-bit pio transfers, chs addressing
...

Ummm, yeah, interesting. wd3 is the cdrom. I haven't tried making
/dev/{r,}wd3* and doing stuff with it yet :-)
