Not unusual for the ncr driver. This may be a disk that it doesn't
like.  We need to know what sort of disk it is, whether you've seen
any problems with other disks, and the date of the kernel where it
last worked.

HP Surestore 1000 drives were blown up recently, but I think I've
got a fix for that change (I've just got to finish updating my CVS
tree so I can compile and test it.) I've also got a newer Seagate
Hawk which the ncr driver doesn't like at all (won't even read the
disklabel), though an older Hawk works just fine.
