I wouldn't bother trying to play games like that.  

You are assuming that the problem is bad storage cells or bad timing
that only effects the upper dram.  That doesnt' have to be the case.
You can just as easily be seeing the effects of increased loading on
the dram bus, or just plain noise being injected by the dram due to
insuffient decoupling or other problems.  If you want to test if
something is messing up your system, pull it out.
