While supporting legacy machines not running NetBSD is a noble
goal, should it affect the NetBSD code?  I don't think
so... I think we should leave a frozen 1.2 implementation around
for people looking to snatch the 4.4BSD networking code, but
I think NetBSD should progress at least into the late 80's.

The purpose of maintaining an OS is not, IMHO, to provide lots
of code that can be used to patch up older OS's.
