This may be common knowledge but a few months ago I tried booting the
NetBSD 1.2 install floppy on a Micron with an Adaptec 2940UW on it and
it wasn't recognized.  I suspect you need a -current install setup
(perhaps Perry's SSTO?) to use NetBSD with a 7880-supplied motherboard?

(Or perhaps it'll be supported in the Ma-are-we-there-yet? NetBSD 1.2.1
 release?)
