The pthreads library bundled with NetBSD is a quite old one which doesn't
even compile, you're right.

Get the latest pthreads library (1_60_beta6) from
<URL:ftp://sipb.mit.edu/pub/pthreads/>, it compiles and run OK on my NetBSD
1.2 box.
