why don't my keys repeat righteously?

# xset -q
Keyboard Control:

but no repeat :-[

current config is netbsd1.1, sparc IPX, X11R6.1

and another thing: how come vtwm's titles aren't squeezing when told
to? did things change that much since i grabbed my vtwm sources
sometime in the early neolithic era?
