I'm not aware of any bugs in it, and I haven't seen any bug reports relating
   to problems with it in interrupt or polled mode. To the best of my knowledge,
   it works fine for everyone who has used it.

I just looked at the FreeBSD version, and it doesn't do anything
substantially different from ours in this respect.  And indeed, someone
just reported that it fails on one of his machines in interrupting mode.
