I could see a reverse endian file system being used in several ways.

	o One, as you mentioned, is removable media.
	o upgrading from, say, one machine to another when the
	  byte order changes
	o putting a drive on another machine due to hardware failure.
	o installation programs

However, the disklabel position and format would need to be reversed
too, which is a pain.  Hmm.
