Sounds interesting.  I just had a look at the links stuff, and one
   comment comes to mind:  it only checks for '#if' - what it there is
   white space between the '#' and the 'if'?  Is this something that
   should be send-pr'd?

Probably, but it's *far* from the only deficiency.  Perhaps cleaning
it up would be a good first step toward making a `link kit' viable.  If
you don't know which objects you can share, then you're pretty much
screwed.
