Did you try '-f' to force it?  '-p' won't do a thing if fsck(8) thinks
the fs is clean.  I know this was an issue a bit ago (fs is
marked clean, but really isn't).  I think cgd put a send-pr against it
a while ago to document this fact.  Dunno, if that issue was ever addressed...

Anyone remember whatever became of that?
