Ok - final plea here for tcsh to replace csh in the standard
	   build - I think tcsh is a major asset to anyone using the command
	   line [...]

I think that's *way* overstated.  Personally, I like rc with readline
a lot, but I don't necessarily think that everyone else does or will.
