Yeah, I agree it looks bad, but the port header file is generated by
autoconf.  It worked great for us (I use to work with Mark Gooderum).
It simplified our porting task significantly. Porting to a new platform
got easier each time we added a new platform since most of the tests
were already written.  It might involve in modifying an existing test.
There's a big startup overhead, but huge benefits after that. This is
my opinion, of course. ciao.
