I have an i386 with an NE2000 card. It produces "ring buffer overflows"
on occasion, especially while tcpdump is running. Sometimes, soon
after printing ring buffer overflow messages, the machine freezes up
so thoroughly that I can't even get into the kernel debugger with
alt-coltrol-escape.
