   that I should worry about.

A new kernel and new executables should work fine with an old format
file system.  However, you can easily update it to the new format by
using `fsck -c2' (with a new version of fsck(8), obviously).

I'd recommend making a backup right before you do that, though, just in
case something blows chunks.
