Works fine on my October 15th tar_files sources - did you remember to
install the new include files before building the library?
Although, looking at it, my /usr/include/dirent.h is dated Sep 13th,
and includes the "long dd_rewind" magic cookie.
i.e. Oct 15 tar_files build fine.
