as a member of the list since before all this silly talk of the book, i
can say by word of the current unix-haters czar, the list is off at the
moment, and will be until all the book nonsense dies down. the
traditional way of gaining membership is post an almost unspeakable
flame to the unix-haters-request list and the czar will decided if you
are worthy.
