The binaries from ftp.laas.fr work great for me; I'm using the Mac32 server
   right now.

Very strange. For me the Mach32 server (static version) just starts
up, blinks the screen, and exits (no "Broken pipe" msg as others have
described). My kernel is from Jun 18 sources. Here is my Xconfig. I
have an ATI Graphic Ultra Pro VLB with 1MB of VRAM, and a Logitech
serial mouse. Can you show me your Xconfig?

My first suspicion would be someone broken in the new kernel. But
that does not seem to be the case, since the 2.0 Mach32 server (using
libc.so.4.0) works fine.

Anyone have any ideas on this? (Anyone who would like to debug is
welcome to use my machine over the rather slow network.)
