Your message was *awfully* non-specific.

What message about `exception 16' are you referring to? The one which
says `using exception 16'? Does it *sound* like an error message?

As far as GCC dumping core, it would have been nice if said *how* it was
dumping core. Think about it; without specifics, how is anyone supposed
to know whether it's a file system bug (corrupted file), a compiler bug,
a VM system bug, a hardware bug, or the phase of the moon is wrong?
*Please* take the time to write more complete bug reports in the future.

Thirdly, you said `the May 2nd binaries', but you didn't state whether
you built them yourself or got them from somewhere else, and if the
latter, *where* you got them, and if the former, *where* you got the
source.

The most likely thing I can think of that would make GCC dump core for
you is that you have executables or libraries built from source between
April 2nd and April 14th, which had temporary syscall assignments which
are now gone.
