If you don't wat to start from an X11R5 tree, a complete "official"
XFree86 2.1 source code distribution is on 
ftp.physics.su.oz.au:/XFree86/2.1-source.

However 2.1 doesn't work on latest -current. You need either 2.1.1
(the patch from 2.1 is also available on ftp.) or the patches I sent
to this list to fix /dev/mem opening.
