   My make is only outputting 4 letters then a space and then the next 4
   letters, it is also adding /src to the end of the compilation line.

Excuse me, but WHAT THE FUCK are you talking about?  This has to be one
of the most obscure and meaningless bug reports I've seen in a *while*.

   My kernel when compiling the last steps by hand (because of the /src
   addition) is complaining that pk_subr.o is referencing _npaidb_enter
   from a text segment.

If you have `CCITT' in your kernel, then you need either `HDLC' or `LLC'.
That's how the code came from 4.4-Lite.
