What is the effect of the Pc line:
	:np:ap:sp#9600:
i.e. why np and then ap ?

Side note: don't put 'console' in the pcvt lines as a description unless
your default line has a speed of 9600, as Mark (thanks) pointed out to
me else you'll have a few problems with 'vi' etc. Better stick to 'Pc'
as the description.
