I also noticed that this binary snapshot seems to have disappeared
   from sun-lamp.  Is this because it was found to be bad?

The snapshot was a bit premature, since there were still significant
problems with the off_t change.  I'm hoping a new one will be available
soon.

   Does the netbsd-aha have support for the adapetec 1742, [...]?

Both netbsd-aha and netbsd-bt will now have the ahb driver.
