Some of you will notice that the kernel no longer reports the same amount
of memory you think you have installed in your machine.  It now reports
the amount of conventional + extended memory that the NVRAM reports as
actually being usable.  On some machines, the part that coincides with the
I/O `hole' is mapped above the normal memory in hardware, and thus will
still be visible; on other machines it is not and it won't.

No point in having the kernel lie to you...
