sorry, I'm a bit slow on the uptake; I've finally sup'd everything and
rebuilt.  (someone might want to put the line "cd /usr/src; make obj" in 
what ever "cookbooks" people are writing ;-)

I got one round of (cd /usr/src; make && make install) done and everything
works great (amazing! shared libs!).

I did it again after a sup this morning and I hung in tsort rebuilding
gcc.  I know i saw mail on this which I ignored (oops).  What's the fix
for the looping tsort?  (fix it myself? ;-)
