I find it strange with these messages about the wd-driver being so
trouble-some. I have a couple of users using a locally made 0.9 with
IDE disk's, and none have reported disk troubles.
I only have SCSI disk's myself and these has worked perfectly for quite
a long time.

Charles, you mention the magnum branch, could you (or someone else) 
give an outline and timeline of this.
