I'd suggest that you possibly begin with a clean
set of sources, ld compiled experimentaly, and
retry. I haven't had any X-problems, since I used
the latest X-patches (well other than that atk 
won't compile). 

I did get a few relocation messages when compiling
xview3.2, but that didn't stop the binaries from
running.

(btw. whoever made the patches for xview3.2 missed
 filter.c and txt_move.c)
