I recall some discussion quite a while ago in c.o.3.* about the
implementation of conditional symbolic links in *BSD. I wonder 
what were the conclusions and did anyone bothere to experiment
with that?

(To avoid any confusion: what I call CSL is the sort that existed
on Apollo workstations, you make a link with an environment 
varible in it, and it gets resolved at cd time. Worked fine on
Apollo, the box had Sys V, BSD and (?)Aegis OSes all in one.
You switched between them by changing one environment variable.)
