Hi!

I'm planning on using my A3000 as a network router running NetBSD. The only
problem is that all Zorro slots of the machine are filled up (Retina Z3,
Ariadne Ethernet, two "passive" videoboards which I can't pull out, otherwise
the connected device will loose its initialization --- I have to init it under
AmigaOS and then boot NetBSD) and the machine currently has only 4MB of
FastRAM + 2MB of ChipRAM.
The CPU is a 25MHz 68030.

Now I wondered whether it is feasible to upgrade the RAM of the Amiga using
PS/2 SIMMS located in a Turbo card in its "CPU Direct"-Slot (or however it is
called),
because 16MB in ZIP Modules account for roughly 50% more than the more
expensive Turbo cards, and I have a few PS/2 SIMMs already hanging about.

I'd like to know whether anyone is running NetBSD successfully in any such
configuration, or similar.

I also thought of getting a "tower upgrade kit" for the A3000, which would
give me 7 Zorro slots, and putting a RAM expansion card accepting PS/2 SIMMs
there. Has anyone tried this setup?

Thank you very much in advance for any comments and/or advice.

So long,
	Joe
