 Do I understand it correct that transferring the file over network is
faster than copying it to /dev/null ? That indeed would be some magic.

 Anyway, ~300KB/s with Ariadne on an A4000/40 is too slow.  I would have
expected up to 450KB/s. Those log-messages for Ariadne still in?
