I skip a step.  My s-s is set up to detect my mouse buttons.  If no mouse
button is pressed, it mounts my root partition under BFFS and uses loadbsd
to load the kernel right off the root drive (no copying necessary).  If the
left mouse button is pressed, it'll pop into degtrader.  If the right mouse
button is pressed it'll boot into Amigados/wb/etc.  (and of course both
mouse buttons cause the boot menu to come up).
